The Race is On

On the Republican side, we have a number of contenders, among them Rick Perry, Mitt Romney, and Michelle Bachmann. There are others, but those are the three that (IMHO) may be the next presidential contender. Of these, I’d prioritize them with Perry or Bachmann first. I do not particularly favor Romney, because of RomneyCare and also he’s been a bit too far left to suit me.

Even so, no matter which candidate wins the primaries, the Republican will get my vote, because I’m voting against Obama. Here’s the thing: I actually believe, heart and mind, that four more years of Obama (or Democrat control) will destroy this country, and I love my country. He’s got to go. I don’t know why Obama is doing so much damage, but the evidence is all around us.

As an example, his EPA is forcing the shut down of many coal fired power plants in Texas; which produce about 40% of our power down here. They are doing this so suddenly that the power plants do not have time to install equipment that would bring them into compliance, thus forcing the closings instead. Obama is probably doing this for ideological (green) reasons, but it may be that he just bears a grudge against Texas because we aren’t big fans of Obama down here. But consider the implications of this act; thousands put out of work directly as a result, but also loss of efficiency across the state when they inflict the rolling black-outs that are predicted. Kind of hard to do your job when the power is off and your computer or welding machine doesn’t work (both of which our company has several). This is a direct blow at businesses in Texas, both financially and economically. And it is optional!

And that is job creation and private sector business under Obama in a nutshell. And that is why he has to go.

So, will the Republicans actually be running against Obama? I’m seeing hints that many Democrats are beginning to see him as unelectable; and if that is the case, they may well ask him to decline to run. Anybody care to bet that Hillary Clinton would be the Democratic candidate, if this were to happen?

I don’t know if it will happen like that, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised. It should be an interesting election.

Hilary would be little better than Obomination, but would be seen as more electable, so she would have better luck against the Republican contenders. Obama looked that way, too, but he’s proven to be a disaster. Hilary’s track record is out there too, if people will just start to look closely at their candidates. But I don’t see that happening anytime soon.
