Respect for the Process of Law

The Democrats demonstrably do not support our form of government. Our government is based on rule by the people. The most powerful way the will of the people is transmitted to that government is by voting. The people select their representatives to vote their will in the various bodies of government, and those representatives in turn vote on the business of the various legislatures. Voting the will of the people is fundamental to our country and our way of life. This is why voter fraud is such a big deal.

The business of the members of the legislatures of the states and the federal government is to be present, and to vote on whether they support a given bill, or not, thereby expressing the will of their constituents. When one side wins, it should fairly represent the will of the people.

The rule establishing a quorum was intended to keep a small group from forcing unrepresentative action by a small body of members. The Democrats have perverted the rule in order to achieve the effect it was designed to prevent; they are attempting to prevent a law from passing that should pass because the majority is in favor. They have done this once in Texas, and now in Wisconsin and Indiana.

They do this in order to try to force their minority view on their respective state legislatures; by hiding, in a despicable act of cowardice and desperation, that is completely antithetical to the entire philosophy of our system of government. They are sabotaging the American system and doing an end-run around the will of the people.

Simply put, the Democrats do not respect the will of the people. We saw it clearly with the passage of ObamaCare, and we see it again now in the state legislatures of Wisconsin and Indiana, and once before in Texas. Like spoiled children, they don’t care what the majority wants, as long as they get their selfish way.

This is far more harmful than simply voting no. This is sabotage. These people do not believe in majority rule – they believe in “by hook or by crook”, and they will apparently do anything to get their way. Just exactly as Obama has operated in his administration.

Every single one of them should be run out of office and barred from public “service” for the rest of their lives. There is doggone little of representative government going on where Democrats have anything to say about it. The evidence is before you in the news of the day.

Of course, if you look under a Democrat, you’ll generally find a Union Label – and that’s a big part of the problem.

We need to change that. I’m really looking forward to 2012. We MUST take back our government – and we will!

Addendum 2/23/11: Quote: “One of the missing Democrats, Minority Leader Mark Miller, delivered a response from Illinois.
“The only action available to us to slow this down and allow democracy to work was to take us out of the Capitol,” he said”

Funny; my dictionary says democracy is “a system of government by … the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives”.

So, Democrats think the way to practice this democracy thing is by running away because they might lose a vote. How very odd. Seems to me, “democracy” is just another buzz word, at least to this guy. A throw-away word you use in ways to make you sound like the one being wronged.

It doesn’t mean that to me. It means to me that your recourse is your vote. Not deception, not parliamentary tricks, just – your vote.

If these guys don’t want to vote (which is, after all, their job!), they need to find another line of work.
