He said Republicans had driven the economy into a ditch and then stood by and criticized while Democrats pulled it out. Now that progress has been made, he said, “we can’t have special interests sitting shotgun. We gotta have middle class families up in front. We don’t mind the Republicans joining us. They can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back.”
This is so wrong on so many fronts that I am astounded.
First, “driving the economy into a ditch” was a bipartisan effort lead by George Bush, Obama(1), Barney Frank, and Chris Dodd, among others.
Second, Obama has directly driven the economy further into the ditch, and put the peddle to the metal while doing it. He has tripled the deficit he inherited, while complaining about the Bush deficit.
Third, if Obama is against “special interests” than why is he in bed with the SEIU?
Fourth, I don’t have statistics, but I would bet there are a good many middle class families that ARE Republicans. I’m middle class, and I voted that way, myself.
Fifth, that last statement sure does sound like a racist comment, to me. In America today, nobody tells anybody to sit in the back of the bus. We gave that up a long time ago, Obama!
What a jerk!
