This is from John Lott’s blog. It is an interesting video about some things not commonly known about Islam.
It just might explain many of the current events of this era. It’s worth watching – I urge you to do so.
If you don’t want to watch the video, it makes three major points:
First: The later parts of the Qur’an supersede the earlier parts. The earlier parts were peaceful, the later parts were violent. Therefore, a Muslim can quote you a peaceful verse of the Qur’an to make it sound like Islam is a “religion of peace” without mentioning that those verses are over-ridden by the later, violent and hateful verses, which actually apply.
Second: Muslims have a religious mandate to spread Sharia law until it governs the entire world. There is information about how they’re doing with that (pretty well, actually). In their minds, there will be no true peace until this is accomplished.
Third: Muslims have a religious mandate to LIE to non-muslims if it forwards their cause. This is different than any other religious text; the Qur’an is the only one that mandates deception and lying – as long as it is directed at a non-Muslim.
Therefore, a Muslim can tell you, with a straight face, that Islam is a “religion of peace”, and that there are verses in the Qur’an that even say to respect and deal kindly with “the people of the Book” – the Jews and Christians. What they may not mention is that Mohammed later says (in the Qur’an) that on this subject he was “deceived” and that is where the verses of violence and hatred begins.
Headlines in the news seem to corroborate this, as well. For instance: the Muslim activity in Europe; and in some parts of Britain, Sharia law is now being used to adjudicate certain legal cases. In other words, they are making inroads, not only as a religion, but into various legal systems. Additionally, they are out-breeding us.
Without doing a lot of research, it seems to me that every single violent event / conflict in recent world history has had Muslims on one side or the other.
These facts and logic dictate that Islam is a direct threat to the way of life I hold dear.
Remember that a Muslim is not obligated to tell the truth to a non-Muslim. This should be at the forefront of your mind in any dealing with Muslims.
NOW, having said all that, I must say that I am a Christian country boy living in East Texas, and this is what I have heard and read. I have also talked to a local pastor, who has confirmed the above, based on his own studies. All evidence available to me at present indicates these things are true.
In addition to the above, notice the amount of ‘give’ different religions seem to have. As Christians, we believe that Muslims have it wrong; but we also feel that they are free to believe whatever they want to believe. The converse is not true. Muslims will not rest until the world is under Sharia law. At that point, when we are under their thumb, there will be ‘peace’. Consider, for instance, conversion. If you are Muslim and convert to any other religion, it is punishable by death. That is the Islamic idea of a “religion of peace”. “Freedom of religion” does not exist for Muslims. Here is a list of Muslims converted to Christianity – and the text at the top mentions obfuscation of locations of these people – for their protection.
Some of you will point out the Christian Crusades as an example of Christians promoting Christianity by violence. Stipulated. That was then, and this is now. When is the last time you heard of a Christian cutting off somebody’s head?
I invite anyone to weigh in on this subject. Anyone who wishes to defend Islam must also explain recent world history, which is the visible evidence of their intent. We have indeed moved into a period in which Muslim-initiated violence is largely shaping world events. If Muslims are, in reality, peaceful, they have a heck of an image problem that they need to correct.
If you think this is wrong, say so, and say why you think so. If this is all wrong, I’d like to know that. I don’t hate anybody, and I don’t have a prejudice against Muslims, per se; I am, however, influenced by the facts at my disposal. And I am entitled to protect my own interests.
