Italy’s disaster chief, Guido Bertolaso, is scornful of the U.S. aid work going on in Haiti.
What a jerk! This guy is famous in Italy for coordinating relief last year for an earthquake that killed 300.
I suppose he thinks that makes him qualified to stick his nose up in the air at our efforts to help in a disaster that has killed at least 150,000 and left millions (plural) homeless.
In terms of dollars, the U.S. has sent $184 million, so far. Italy? $9 million. We have sent 13,000 troops to keep the peace and many, many rescue teams and medical personnel. Italy? “some recovery teams”.
What an amazing display of arrogance and insensitivity. What a complete and total waste of protoplasm.
